Forbes names Pakistan among top 10 underrated travel destinations
Pakistan is one of the top 10 under-the-radar travel destinations, according to recent article published by Forbes. Pakistan Declared third highest Travel destination.
Despite tipping Pakistan off as one of the next big destinations since a few years, the recent visit by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has made Pakistan one of the most-anticipated destinations to watch out for, according the Wild Frontiers.
“Pakistan is perhaps the ultimate adventure travel destination,” said Wild Frontier founder Jonny Bealby.
“Pakistan is great for trekking, mountain biking, rafting or just cultural tourism. The infrastructure has also improved, with resurfaced roads and new tunnels cutting down travel time, new luxury hotels are opening up in the region,” he added.
Other places on the list include Saudi Arabia, Chad, Armenia, Tunisia, Algeria, and Eritrea among others.
Last year, travel magazine Conde Nast named Pakistan as its number one travel destination for 2020. The same year, the British Backpacker Society had also ranked the country as the number one travel destination in the world.

These include five, out of the total fourteen, above 8000 meter high peaks in the world, including the second highest mountain peak -the Pak Peak K-2 (8611m), Pak Peak Gasherbrum 1, Pak Peak Gasherbrum 2, Pak Peak Broad Peak and Pak Peak Nanga Parbat. Nevertheless these mountain ranges also boast more than 100 peaks above 7000 meters and around 700 peaks above 6000 meters.

British Backpackers Society (BBS) earlier this week has declared Pakistan as the world’s third highest potential adventure destination for the 2020. “After counting the votes from its membership of adventure travel experts from around the world, the BBS is delighted to announce that Pakistan has been awarded the third place in the ranking,” said a statement issued by the BBS.
Talking to APP, Samuel Joynson of the BBS said that Pakistan is a travel gem and is one of the world’s most exciting travel destinations right now.
He said that Pakistan offers much more to travellers and tourists. It suggested adventure tourists: “In addition to touring the Karakoram Highway, visit the bustling markets of Karachi, taste the delectable flavours of the Punjab in Lahore and grab tea with some of the friendliest people that you will ever meet on the story-tellers street of Peshawar”.
