8000 Plus meters

 There are fourteen mountains in the world which are above 8000 Plus meters. Pakistan has FIVE amongst them. These five mountains are:  Savage Mount K2, The Killer Mountain Nanga Parbat, Gigantic Broad Peak, the Hidden peak Gasherbrum I and the Beautiful Gasherbrum II. 

Short Overview 

K2 :

8,611 metres above sea level, is the second-highest mountain on Earth. It lies in the Karakoram range, Gilgit-Baltistan.  First ascent: July 31, 1954, Prominence: 4,020 m, Easiest route: Abruzzi Spur, Isolation: 1,316 km (818 mi)

Nanga Parbat :

It means “king of the mountains”. It is the ninth-highest mountain on Earth. It’s summit at 8,126 m above sea level. Elevation: 8,126 m. First ascent: July 3, 1953. Prominence: 4,608 m, Location: Gilgit–Baltistan, Pakistan. First ascender: Hermann Buhl, and also Easiest route is  Western Diamer District. Mountain range: Himalayas, and also Western Himalayas.

Broad Peak:

It is a mountain in the Karakoram on the border of Pakistan and also China. This is the twelfth-highest mountain in the world at 8,051 metres above sea level. It was first ascended in June 1957 by Fritz Wintersteller, Marcus Schmuck, Kurt Diemberger, and also Hermann Buhl of an Austrian expedition. Prominence: 1,701 m, Location: Baltistan, Gilgit–Baltistan, Pakistan, Tashkurgan, Xinjiang, China, China–Pakistan border. Easiest route: snow/ice climb, Mountain range: Himalayas, Karakoram, Baltoro Muztagh.

Gasherbrum I:

It is called Hidden Peak. It is the 11th highest mountain in the world at 8,080 metres above sea level. It is located in Shigar District in the Gilgit–Baltistan region of Pakistan.  First ascent: July 5, 1958, Prominence: 2,155 m, Easiest route: snow/ice climb, Mountain range: Himalayas, Gasherbrum, Karakoram, First ascenders: Pete Schoening, Nicholas Clinch, Gil Roberts, MORE.

Gasherbrum II:

It is known as K4, is the 13th highest mountain in the world at 8,035 metres above sea level. It is the third-highest peak of the Gasherbrum massif, and is located in the Karakoram, between Gilgit–Baltistan, Pakistan and Xinjiang, China. Mountain range: Karakoram, First ascent date: July 8, 1956, Easiest route: Snow/ice climb, Prominence: 1,524 m (5,000 ft).
