Discover Pakistan’s Most Colorful Season
When summer fades, the mountains of Gilgit–Baltistan burst into a spectacular palette of gold, crimson, and amber. From mid-September through November, poplar and apricot trees change color and paint the valleys in glowing autumn hues. Our Autumn Jeep Safari takes you deep into these landscapes—beyond what you ever imagined—so you can witness nature’s grand finale in style and comfort.
Why Travel in Autumn?
Each valley in Gilgit–Baltistan has its own unique autumn character: golden apricots in Hunza, fiery poplars in Skardu, coppery willows along the Indus.
Our expertly designed Jeep Safari follows the legendary Karakoram Highway and Baltistan’s hidden backroads to showcase these once-a-year sights.
Top valleys and villages on our route include:
-
Hunza, Karimabad & Eagle’s Nest – panoramic views of Rakaposhi, Ultar Peaks and Golden Peak.
-
Skardu & Baltistan – home to the Cold Desert, Upper and Lower Kachura Lakes, Kharphocho Fort and the Shangrila Resort.
-
Khaplu & Machulo – breathtaking autumn scenery at the gateway to the mighty Masherbrum (K1) and Haldi Cones.
-
Ghizer & Phander Valley – mirror-like lakes framed by golden trees.
-
Naltar Valley – famous for its forested slopes and crystal lakes.
Along the way, you’ll also see world-renowned peaks including Nanga Parbat, Rakaposhi, Diran, Masherbrum, and more.

We took the number of the above tour operator guide from our one American friend, who already visited the Northern Areas of Pakistan with him in a group. Nabi was really great. He helped out before, during, and after our trip to Pakistan.
He is well experienced, educated, flexible, reliable, honest, knowledgeable, and punctual. He is very well known and has a very good network with the local people; security agencies and logistics providers.
The best thing was that like us he and his team was vaccinated of Covif-19.
Thanks for an excellent welcome during our first visit to Pakistan! We are already planning our next trip. All the best.
