Pakistan is blessed with world-class destinations for jeep safari, photography, trekkings, and expeditions. There are also five world’s highest mountains, and one of them is K-2 (8611m). This country is rich in tourism potential.
The trekking zones to various regions have been restricted, and open has segregated by the Ministry of tourism Gilgit Baltistan.
Open zones
Open zones refer to regions where journeys typically extend beyond a single day and do not require any special permits or the payment of entry fees. Nevertheless, these trek routes follow specific guidelines and have certain requirements that trekkers should be aware of before planning their expedition.
Restricted Zones for Trekking
Pakistan offers many spectacular trekking routes in Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). However, several of these routes fall under restricted zones. As a result, trekkers must pay official trekking fees and obtain a special permit from the Ministry of Tourism. Importantly, the government issues these permits only through registered travel agencies, such as Visit in Pakistan Treks & Tours.
