Deosai National Park is a national park located between Skardu, Kharmang, and Gultari valleys in Gilgit Baltistan. Deosai National Park is the most suitable national park for the conservation of wildlife animals. The Wildlife Animal Conservation in Deosai is doing a great job. Nearly 90% of the Deosai Plateau falls under the Skardu District. The local Balti name of Deosai is Ghbiarsa, which means “summer’s place”. It is called ‘The land of Giants’ and is known for its scenic beauty. Because it is believed to have once been inhabited by giants.
Above the tree line and 13500 ft above sea level, Deosai Plains are among the highest plateaus in the world. The Deosai Plains cover an area of almost 3000 square kilometers. For just over half the year – between November and May – Deosai is snow-bound. In summer, Deosai is accessible from Skardu in the north and Astore Valley in the west.

Deosai is home to a variety of rare and beautiful wildlife animals, including the endangered Himalayan brown bear. Deosai National Park is also home to many animals. Those are indigenous to this area, and those from other parts of the world, too. See how white-collared kingfishers sing songs at dawn. The blue sheep and musk deer wander about in their natural habitat.
Himalayan wolf cubs have been sighted in recent years. International travelers can see snow leopards, red fox, golden eagle, markhors, reindeer & vultures. They weave through towering cliffs amid stunning scenery. The stunning beauty is combined with the work put in by local conservation groups. Best Season to visit Deosai for wildlife animal sightseeing
The best time to visit Deosai is in July. Deosai is a high-altitude plateau that is the second-highest plateau on Earth. It’s unlike many plateaus, animals, and landscapes, it is an attractive location. I wish I had horses to take them to Deosai and take a full adventure. I wish I could be on a horse, taking pictures of running horses in the lush green plains of Deosai.
