Laila Peak Expedition | A life long Experience

Laila is an Arabic word and mostly use for women’s names. It means “Beloved One”. Laila Peak has 6,096 meters in height. It is located in Hushe Valley. Laila Peak is one of the prettiest and worth seeing sights of the world. It is a fully snow-covered mountain. The super beautiful Laila Peak is located near the Gondogoro glacier. The Laila Peak’s distinctive spear-like shape sticking out in the sky, has attracted trekkers passing by.

Laila Peak got attention in 2005 when Fredrik Ericcson and Jorgen Aamot from Scandinavian countries, ski down this beautiful mountain. They saw during their ski Gasherbrum II in 2005. They did ski on Gasherbrum-II 8035m. But they could not make ski on Laila from the top. But they ski down from 200 meters below the summit on this beautiful mountain. After an unsuccessful ski trip, Fredrik and Jorgen went up to G-2.

A short Story of Laila Peak Expedition

They described its height as 6614m and said that Laila Peak is one of the most impressive mountains they have ever seen. A needle, it points straight up in the sky. Its northwest flank has a steepness of 45-50 degrees in more than 1500 vertical meters. Early in the morning, they start from base camp at 5000m.

They continued climbing up the slopes of Laila, and at sunrise, they saw the magnificent view of K2, Broad Peak, and Gasherbrum. They continue for eight hours, and now the terrain got steeper and steeper, only a thin layer of snow is covering the slopes.

One hundred fifty meters from the summit, they felt no way they could ski in these icy conditions and decided to turn around. It was more than 1500 meters vertical meters down to the bottom. The lower part of Laila Peak is cover with soft snow; the upper part is cover with a thin layer of ice; it is mixed ice climbing and rock climbing peak.

From the summit, one can see all Karakorum’s majors peaks, including K-2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum peaks, and many others. Laila Peak is the most desirable tourism point for skiers and lovers of natural beauty. It’s a perfect place to enjoy sightseeing in a relaxing atmosphere with a cool breeze of air.

HIGHLIGHTS OF LAILA PEAK EXPEDITION

Laila Peak is situated in central Karakoram but is relatively easy to access from Hushe village via a Skardu road. Therefore, to get to Laila Peak, international travelers must first fly into Skardu. From here, trekking companies offer private jeeps large enough to carry passengers and an expedition and Trekking load. The drive from Skardu to Hushe takes approximately 8 hours. Once in Hushe, base camp can be reached in around two days, though it may be wise to take longer to acclimatize to the high altitude.

Due to its fantastic splendor and mountainous magnificence, Laila Peak is the most desirable tourism point for skiers and natural beauty lovers. It’s a perfect place to enjoy sightseeing in a relaxing atmosphere with a cool breeze of air. However, non-Pakistani citizens have to purchase a permit from the Ministry of Tourism to visit the Laila Peak, Hushe Valley.

The tickets’ charges are on per person which changes every year, and a licensed tour operator and guide is also required for the duration. However, once you visit for Trekking and Expedition on Laila peak, you will understand that all your money is well paid off.

Our Laila Peak Expedition with Visit in Pakistan Tours in July 2021 was an unforgettable adventure. The support staff and guides were experienced and knowledgeable, and they made sure we were well-prepared and safe throughout the expedition. The climb itself was challenging, but the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys made it all worth it. The campsite locations were stunning, and the food provided by the support staff was delicious and nutritious. Overall, the Laila Peak Expedition with Visit in Pakistan Tours was an incredible experience that I would highly recommend to any experienced climbers looking for a new challenge in the Karakoram range.

We were a group from Poland last summer to explore the Charagusa Valley and K6 of Northern Pakistan. We found Mr Ghulam Nabi after some search for tour agencies. We booked with him and the 20 days long journey in Pakistan was wonderful and gave lifelong memories. The most part of this journey was we found a rare world, unique landscapes and innocent people living peacefully far away from hustle of city life. We recommend this area to be visited once in a life must and this company “Visit in Pakistan Tour” is amazing. They know the area well and their words are matched.
